1. Project Description
The project is based on a two 2MW turbines, currently looking at three alternatives, Repower MM92, Vestas V90 2MW and the Nordex N90 2.3MW machines, however there are possibilities that other machines in development may be considered.
The site is located within the village of Wyverstone in Suffolk.
The site is open farmland which is currently arable with the addition of two large battery chicken sheds
The site has no designations and is not close to any designated areas.
The turbine site is bisected and adjacent to two bridleways which have recently had restrictions to stop them being used by 4x4’s.
2. Planning
Initial discussions took place with Mid Suffolk District Council (MSDC) John Pateman-Gee (Senior Planner) and David Mitchell (Landscape and Environment) and from Suffolk County Council (SCC) Peter Holborn (Senior Planner), they are all very supportive and feel the site is a good one. Tey quoted that if they were to choose a site in Suffolk this be one of them!
A request for a Scoping Opinion has yet to be sent to MSDC planning department, further to letters from the small opposition group John Pateman-Gee has requested a meeting, date and time yet to be confirmed.
3. Objection Group
There has been set up amongst local residents and objection group. This group is called Stop Wyverstone Windfarm Action Group or SWWAG they are being led by a Dr Neil Macey and he is a resident of Potash Lane.
